Once I discovered that a timer was rounding up to the nearest minute after the call completed. If you think you have 3000 calls and 9000 minutes, you could possibly only have 7500 minutes because when a call ended at 3:31 minutes, the timer added 4 minutes to the grand total. Some timers round down. And those 3000 calls,? is that every time you press TALK/SEND or it that only calls that connected? Maybe you only have 2000 calls. Incoming/Outgoing, Call Waiting?

Timers and counters serve no practical purpose on a cellphone. Those few reasons among others legal ones led me to remove them completely from customer use (but they are still there for internal use only). The only thing you get is the duration of your call, when you END, the clock flashes at 14:42 so you know how long you were just on the phone.

Has another found a good use for them? When you buy a used phone, do you ascertain the "mileage" on it using the call timer?

Thanks.

Agreed, there really is no practical purpose for the end user, except to post a number in threads like this.

Honestly, the first time I ever looked at the timers on my phone was in response to this thread.

True some of the phones are in seconds. So I have no home phone, I only use my cell and this one has 1373 minutes on it and 317 calls and I've had it since May 4th.
