Outlook Help?
Anyone know how to get rid of that pop up message you get in outlook when you sync our phone? it comes up and says that some macro is trying to access outlook. if you want to allow this click ok. and it comes up with a time limit dropdown where you pick like 1-10 minutes. anyone know how to disable this forever? i hate that shit every time i try to sync my phone...

go to Tools > Macro... > Security... and turn down your security level. This is the way in Outlook 2003, I believe it's similar in older versions. Of course always be sure you have a good anti-virus program in place.

What phone are you syncing? I am assuming it's a Palm based phone. For Palm based phones, be sure you are using the latest version of Pocket Mirror. Pocket Mirror is designed to elimintate that error by properly accessing Outlook. I have used a Palm based handset with Outlook 2000, XP, and now 2003 and provided I am always using the latest Pocket Mirror, it's never a problem.
Now, keep in mind, Pocket Mirror is only responsible for Contacts, Calender, Notes, and ToDo's. Any other conduits trying to access Outlook will likely get this macro blocking security issue. I tend to see this frequently on conduits for mail applications on the Palm trying to sync with mail on Outlook. THere is only one mail application that I have ever seen that will not generate the macro error. Unfortunatly, it's the standard shitty Palm Mail app.

ok here is EXACTLY what the error says:
A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in outlook. Do you want to allow this?
If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "no"
then it says Allow access for: (drop down) 1-10 mins
then yes, no and help.
ALL i want to do is GET RID of this damn message. anyone know a REG hack or something to do this? PLEASEEE! (it's also happening at work on another thing, and i'll score huge points if i figure out how to kill the msg!)

Did you read my post? Answer my questions if you want help. Ther eis no way to disable it, only use the right sync application to handle it. If this is a Palm device, look at the syncronization process, and tell me what conduit is running.

THe Mcro they are using to do the function is causing the problem. They need to design a differnet wa to do it that is not Macro based.
I do not know of any other way unless you use a automatic button pusher.
