Even still, after purchasing my macbook I realized I shouldn't have ordered the upgraded drive. I could have bought a 200GB 7200 rpm Seagate drive instead for around $195 and installed leopard on that instead. Oh well.

Big Block go VROOOM!
Some additional info on Unsanity's Application Enhancer (APE) that was mentioned earlier by Scrib.

I'm having a problem that I've never seen before and IDK if it's caused by leopard. It took some pics with my niece using photo booth and I wanted to upload them to my myspace. So I get to the page where you upload I then hit the browse button to browse the imac, I find the pic I want select it but it won't show up on the myspace page that I've select a pic. It acts as if nothing has happened. I thought it might have been safari so I tried it in Firefox and got the same problem. I've never tried it in Tiger or IDK if it worked but I'll assume it did. Has anyone else had problem uploading photos to myspace or anywhere else?
Other than that I haven't had any problems with Leopard so far.

OK ... got Leopard to install. My only beef with it was how LONG it took for it to reformat my drive and install. It took close to 90 minutes (not sure how long, but long enough for me to go to my old Dell laptop and surf while Leopard plugged away).
I spent all afternoon (1pm-4:30pm) reinstalling apps, updating them, and putting back pictures, etc. from my removable H/D. I realize I could have done an update from Tiger, but I still have this notion I must reformat from my PC days. I'm sure I got rid of a lot of clutter (ie MP3s I don't listen to, pics I don't care to have, etc) along the way.
So my woes are over.

My Beef:
My Blackjack can no longer be used as a modem
In tiger I was able to connect it using BlackBerry drivers, now that I upgraded it knows its a blackjack and for some reason won't connect
No more $15/month unlimited interweb for me!
You used to be able to get the non tethered plan and use the Mb's.

Well I got my new MacBook Pro today!
Rushed home to start playing with it and try out Leopard.
Turn it on to go through the laptop setup process.
Find out Tiger is installed and I have to do the Leopard install myself. FUCKING APPLE!
Someone tomorrow will be hearing from me.
I'm not scared to install it myself, I'm pissed because the idiotic dumbshyt on the other end of the phone didn't do his job right.

Anyone else having a problem with the history function in Safari? When I scroll down to a previous day I can't really tell wtf is going on. If I move the mouse over a previous day it selects that day without me clicking it. Very annoying.

Anyway, so far it's been really cool. I'm on the MacBook right now. Gonna look up the documentation on getting BootCamp configured and install XP soon.
BTW, glad to see you back man.
I convert to Apple, you're back on the boards, what next, Acura fools everyone and adds RWD?
Anyway, the clean install I think will [hopefully] save me a lot of issues that everyone else is experiencing with the upgrades from Tiger. I hope you're Dad did the same for your Mom's MacBook.

Important: You must use a single full-install Windows installation disc. Service pack 2 is required for Windows XP installations. Do not install an earlier version of Windows XP and attempt to update it later to service pack 2. Use only 32-bit versions of Windows.
Now I'll have to front the cash for an OEM copy of XP SP2

There are manual directions but there is an automatic tool as well. The name escapes me at the moment.
You will need access to a windows machine to build the package.
EDIT: The tool I have used in the past is called NLITE

As long as you have an XP CD and a key that works with that CD you can slipstream SP2 onto that and should have no problem getting it to run on the mac.

Well, using my XP SP1 CD key on an XP SP2 installation did not work. This bugs me because technically speaking I have a license for XP which can be udpated for free to XP SP2. So I don't see why they don't allow the older licenses to work with the new installation discs because if you ever have the issue I have where you have your key but no CD, how would you get around that problem unless you get that CD again.
Anyway, so I'm going to try the slipstream method....
