All good TVs are made in China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, or Taiwan. Where do they make TVs in the US?

Coming down one product line could be Hisense and down the other lines Sonys and Sharps.

You might find how easy it actually is to complain if you end up spending $1,000 on something you're very unhappy with, have never heard of, and cannot return....wishing the $1,000 was back in the bank and not spent impulsively

EDIT: *Especially* because I see how much members have broken down the pros and cons of different models of tvs in other threads - down to minute details.

I think costco has prices similar to that on the no name brands...and if it ever breaks or you don't like it, they will take it back no questions asked.

it's all about the materials used and quality. even though they might come from the same plant, but the cheaper brand will use cheaper materials and looser QA. they are that cheap for a reason.

$1000 is a lot of money for something that might break sooner than it should be. just pay more $$$ for something reliable.

...yeah, it's this one... click below:

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...rPath=79*3316*

...it's even less right now... at $900, and with Costco... anything happens, you just take it to the nearest Costco and return it... even if purchase from their website.

True. But since there are only 1 or 2 people in the world making most of the decent parts.....
