It's about time

Seriously, for a company that thrives on being innovative it's insane that they waited 10 years to bring out a mouse that you can actually scroll with.

Now that they've got scrolling capabilities and Intel processors in the works, maybe I'll have to give Apple another go. :stillunlikelytoswitch:

Maybe in 15 years. And they'll claim to be the first wireless mouse in the world.

Don't be dumb now, Dan.

If you needed a scrolling multi-button mouse to use an Apple, you could of put a scrolling multi-button mouse on it... which is why most of us have the MX Laser.

Fact is, most of it is awash. I find my trackpad more efficient than my mouse.

What Apple did here is figure how they could integrate the 3D gestures of the trackpad into a mouse (something that you can't do on a PC nor on a regular old multi button on OSX).

So, actually, it is a tad innovative. It's a bit different at the very least.

They didn't simply create their own brand of multi-button mouse, like Microsoft does, even though you can go through Logitech for a better standard ol multi-button mouse.

Seriously here, I buy the argument that insisting on that button-less mouse was rather dumb. But I also think in the OSX gui many-button mouses are rather useless due to the way you interact with the environment.

They probably should of at least put a basic scroll wheel into their button less mouse, but since they didnt, at least they didnt prohibit anyone from pulling the mouse outta their PC and slapping it on their Apple.

Now that they have changed positions, at least they did a bit more than copy the standard 2-button + vertical scroll.

Having said all that, I'll still stick with my MX wireless unless they make this thing with bluetooth like their keyboards.

However, I do yearn for the 3D scroll.

Only because the Mac desktop tends to get cluttered much more quickly and actually needs expose.

they both have taskbars, minimize, maximize.

windows has its version of expose... its just not sexy... its called cascade or tile windows... or the lil desktop icon to reveal desktop.

virtually its expose, serves same purpose, its just not sexy and doesnt remember previous positions...

its really comfy, but the buttons have poor feedback.

i hate how sometimes when you intend to click the scroll wheel... it scrolls instead of clicks. this makes it really difficult to open tabs from links, etc.

otherwise im mostly pleased with it, just dont like the cheapy button feel. should be dampened or something.

Yeah I use a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer with my iMAC hehe (kind of irony). The scroll wheel press is bound to Expose. Works out pretty nice.

I'll have to check out the new Mighty Mouse when the stores have it. Looks interesting. Pretty cool how it's not really two buttons but rather detects the force and fires accordingly.

I had that issue too intially... trick is if you push the middle button from the back with a foward motion, it clicks all the time. I learned from the Cordless Click Plus that I picked up for work and it works great on the MX1000. I'll try to get an illustration when I get a chance.

na i know what you mean. i do the same.

it's just annoying as fuck... i shouldn't have to be wary of how precisely the movement of my click is on a $90 mouse when I have some $7 Dell POS sitting next to me that does it just fine.

man this is sooooo stupid of apple to make this thing non bluetooth. it could probably be the ultimate apple mouse if it were.

i dont understand why they made it wired while virtually every apple product these days is soo bluetooth laden...
