Noise when I minimize windows in PC

When I minimize or maximize a window, the speakers play a little noise. I had the same problem in Win XP, so I know it's not unique to Win 64. Only problem is that I don't know what I did to fix it. Any ideas?

Nope, not at all. I'm waiting for him to ask how to uninstall Windows Messenger.

(remove HIDE from SYSOC.INF and use windows uninstaller BTW).

It wasn't a click, it was a sweeshh sound. I already had Sounds disabled in Control Panel.

Why past tense? Did I fix it? No. A lot of the hardware I have won't work in Win 64, and some applications run a bit unstable. Therefore, I formatted the drive and started anew with Win XP. Win 64 will have its heyday when MS puts out a full version and other misc companies provide full support with drivers.

In the mean time, back to Win XP; which runs fine on my platform.

A-TSX is cheaper then calling tech support (plus I don't think they have the TSX in India )...

That's one of the possible Windows XP sounds.

I can't find a place to kill all sounds with one command in the Control Panel. You can either disable/enable the sounds one-by-one, or you can mute the audio if you want everything off.

I do seem to recall a place to turn all system sounds off, but can't find it right now.

Control Panel -> Sounds -> Sounds (Tab) -> Scound Scheme = No Sounds (pull down).

The other way to make sure its a system sound or not would be to mute the volume on the sound card, if you still get it, your machine is possessed. If you dont get it when the sound is muted then you know somewhere, something is still trying to associate a sound with a window.
