New Phone Suggestion
New Phone Suggestion
OK so here is the deal, I have had a Moto Razr on Cingular for a little over a year and a half now, I have had it warranty exchanged at least 3 times for varying issues and as of recently I am getting horrible earpiece interference (that beeping noise that speakers make right before your phone is going to ring, but out of the earpiece). I am tired of the slow UI and how dust accumulates under the screen. Cingular said that they would warranty replace it again for me but I am so sick of the repeated problems I have with the Razr that I would rather just get a new phone.
I am not going to switch providers because I get amazing service with Cingular where I live and having been a customer since almost day one I also have an awesome rate plan that covers everything I need at a great price.
I have done a little research and I am really liking the Nokia 6131, I know that there have been some problems with the text messaging and voicemail indicators on the Cingular network, does anyone know if this has been resolved? I text a lot for work and the VM indicator would be a real annoyance if it didn't work properly. I really like the look of the phone and the last Nokia I owned was the best phone I have ever owned (granted this was like 6 years ago but still...). Does anyone have the 6131 and have any input regarding its UI, pros, cons etc? I know that the 6126 should be released soon fixing he problems with TM and VM but I need a phone soon and buying an already unlocked phone is much easier than arguing with cingular to unlock mine because I travel so much.
Also does anyone have any suggestions for alternative phones that I should be looking at? I want a fairly slim phone, I hate for my phone to be a big block in my pocket. I don't need/want a smart phone since I already have a crackberry. I don't want another Moto either. I was really happy with a Samsung I had a few years ago but so far I cannot find a Samsung that I really like save the Z510i.
Also one feature the new phone HAS to have is Vibe and Ring function. I don't want vibe then ring like my old Samsung had, but Vibe and ring concurrently, I know that it is an odd request but I am in and out of my car in loud environments and it is so easy not to have to switch to vibe when on a job site and back to loud in my car...
