Man I hope that glass is durable...

I know the MB had issues with the case stressing and cracking. I wonder how the glass is going to handle stress and flex.

Thats because of the plastic enclosue, and both my fiance and her sis who are not anal about taking care of anything...theirs are fine.

And my Aluminum powerbook has been through the ringer at this point and still runs like a champ.

I'm the betting the new unibody design is what is allowing them to make with the glass screen.

Interesting.
I have mixed feelings about it.

I like the idea of the glass screen but something about the keyboard. All things considered, I could get over it to have one. Too bad mine is still running like a champ though.

My problems with the displays is tha, while gorgeous, you are limited to strictly using it as a computer display. Where as for less money the 24" dell has tons of inputs in back. Even a multi format card reader on the side.

Apple should do that as well, no real reason to cripple it.

i'm not too impressed w/ the macbook pro, but it seems like I can get away with getting a macbook instead

I think I've always liked the 13" size better. and the only thing that really made me feel like i needed a pro before was the crappy integrated graphics, but it looks like that has gotten better. Any other major differences between macbook vs. macbook pro? does the bottom line macbook pro have the same graphics as the macbook?

I guess I'll have to wait until I can actually see the store, and really have time to look at all the specs.

wouldn't the educational discount be almost the same as getting the 30 percent off (which I believe is capped at $200 or $250)? or are you not in school/don't know anyone in school?

unless of course you can get it below retail + live.com discount.

I was planning on getting a new computer in July, this makes that choice a no brainer, I love my current macbook and the new one will be a great replacement.
