I just got an email about a Class Action Settlement for people that bought Netgear Wireless products during a certain time period.

I've had quarrels with how they've setup their routers
because they left out key features that for me as a programmer would be very very handy. And even for non programmers, simply for network admins would be great. But other than that I've always been happy with netgears products.

I had a DS104 4-port ethernet hub that lasted nearly 8 years up to a few weeks ago. It was on 24/7 for almost a decade and always ran pretty hot to the touch. That's a good, solid piece of SOHO network hardware right there if you ask me.
The class action lawsuit alleged false advertising. According to the complaint, the advertised speed of 240 mbps is a peak speed that usually cannot be reached under normal, real-world conditions.
