Need some ideas on assessing software/apps....

My team at work needs to analyze 6 different apps. these apps were basically created or enhanced 1-2 years ago for purchasing...4 are legacy, 2 are COTS. we need to come up with some criteria to assess these applications. we've come up with a few...like...example: do the icons of the apps conform to todays standard (eg: the print icon, or the back button and folder icon like windows); does it make your job simpler as compared to doing it the old way which was paper (the reason we ask this is cuz we heard the training for some of the legacy apps were too confusing and some apps were to complicated to maneuver around); does it take less time to process purchase orders; how user friendly are the apps: etc.

can you guys help us and give us more ideas. thanks!
