Ok, I have ripped all my cds to my hard drive but didnt realize they were all being ripped in WMA format. Now I have 18 gigs of WMA files. Now this isnt a huge issue if my mp3 player played them - I dont want to re-rip all the discs again so is there a program to just convert them all? Also what is the difference between mp3 and wma anyway?

 

i used to use winamp for it. make the play list then click of select plug-in, click on input under plug-ins, and i believe you select the nullsoft MPEG. run the playlist and it should convert em for you. just remember to deselect the plugin.

Doesnt' convert WMA. MY brother asked me this very question last night, and I told him dBPowerAMP as well. He IM'ed me back and told me I was crazy. Sure enough, it doesn't do it.

I told him it was his fault for making WMA's in the first place.

 

do to a suit filed from microshit, they no longer provide the WMA to WAVE feature.

I have never / will never encode to WMA. If I were you, I will either keep it like that and deal with it, or reencode the originals to MP3.

I tried it and it's got some bugs but it eventually worked. it's got a 14-day free trial period.

Edit: I believe simple burning applications like Nero and others have the converter built in, but I could be wrong..
