Need help with iTunes/iPod

just bought a new, used iPod off of ebay. Its a 3G 15GB ipod. I have about 200 songs in iTunes right now and everytime i plug in the iPod to update, it will go through a few songs and then iTunes will freeze. I have to go through Ctrl+Alt Delete so i can get iTunes to end. Sometimes my PC displays a "drive not ready" error. does anybody have experience with this problem. All help is greatly appreciated!

are you using firewire or USB? and what type of computer, RAM, disk space left on HD? latest version of iTunes? Try only doing 5 songs and see if you get the same result.

I would recommend firewire...makes transferring 15gigs of songs at a time a breeze.

I use my USB 2.0 connection for my 4 gen 40gb iPod. It only took me 10 minutes to transfer over 2000 songs.

Try resetting your ipod, hold down play and the select button.

use firewire, i believe it handles buffers better. i kept getting errors transferring 40GB of data onto an external USB 2.0 drive. once i switched it to firewire, no problems. i was using a G5 though, dunno if that makes a difference
