Need Computer Geek Help!
check out newegg, they have decent pricing, I guess the main things too look for are good reviews, solid construction and a decent fan. I never had a good experience with an external enclosures, they all suck and fail on me eventually.
Frustrated!!!!!!
I got my desktop hard drive removed and plugged up with absolutely no problem. Got everything I needed off of it. My other two hard drives (from laptops) have me about to throw something through a window. The pins on the HD look absolutely nothing like anything from the kit I got. WTF??
I'll post pictures of them in a few. I didn't exactly find what I was looking for on the desktop, unfortunately.

Here's one. Sorry the picture is ungodly large.

Here's the other one that I can't figure out how to hook up.

They're so blurry - it was hard to hold them and get a good picture.
If anyone can help me figure out how to get these hooked up to the USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE cables, I would be extremely thankful.

The pins on the top one are removable, that's just an adapter, you can just grab it and pull it off. Be careful though the pins underneath that you're looking for bend easily so make sure you pull straight out away from the drive to prevent the pins underneath from getting bent
If the 2nd one isn't normal sata than it also is an adapter that they put on to make it easier for the
to install. If you undo the 4screws on the side of the drive that hold that metal case to it you should be able to remove the drive from the case and then you'll see the connectors you're looking for

If you want to take better photos of the connectors place the drive at the edge of a table or counter with the connectors facing out and then take pics. But either way there's only two types of connectors used for laptop hard drives IDE or SATA. Many OEMs put adapters on these drive to make it easier to install, these adapters are easily removable so just figure out how to remove the adapter and you'll find what you're looking for
Thanks Hon! You were dead on!
Both were adaptors and pulled right off. Even after pulling the adaptor off the first one, I couldn't find anywhere to plug up the power source, but it worked without the power source, so it turned out ok!
Now I have three computers to get rid of...all without hard drives.
Hopefully someone will want them for parts.
Thanks again to everyone who has helped here!
