Im looking to buy that fone...but cant find a good deal, anyone know of any place i can buy it...I have verizon but they are charging outrageous pricess...and I looked around on the internet and ebay, and got prices over $330.

Any one know of any....

I jus got a new Acura 2005 TL with Navigation....i paid $3300down and $385 It was a great deal and the signing went very smoothly definitely recommend Acura of Ramsey in NJ.

I saw an ad in this Sunday's Star Ledger for the V710 for $99 (w/ 2 yr contract) at 6th Avenue Electronics. I was shocked to see this because, like you I have seen the phone for ~$300. I did not follow through on it, but you may want to check it out.

 

Verizon discounts the phone on line for $250. With a 2 year contract you can get it for $150.

 

Yea i'm pretty sure this is available in New York too...but in LA....if you go to Koreatown, chinatown, pretty much any asian town...they sell the v710 phones for pretty cheap...u just have to go in with an add that they post...

Is there any compelling reason to buy from Verizon, despite the horrific price?

I have too long on my contract to get the phone subsidized by a contract for service. Verizon wnats over $400. I see these phones on eBay, the Chinatown option sounds good. BUT...

I've read stuff about how the phone intially had a camera that focused poorly - Verizon replaced it of you bought from them. I'm leery of getting "a deal" only to find I have old firmware, or some other problem that's a hassle to fix.

Iflorack, they're only free with a service contract. My contract is through work, and has 1 1/2 years left on it. So, I have to buy the phone outright without the subsidy.

From Verizon, it's >$400. Can get better from eBay, new or used, but again, I'm have some concerns about warranty, etc.

Can anyone address these concerns? Looking for success or horror stories to get me off the fence.

I would wait a little while till the V710 is out a little longer and some firmware updates are out, Motorola is producing Crappy Phones lately, and are having tons of trouble with them.
