This site says "Fall 04". I've also heard that this is going to be one very expensive phone considering it's features (this site says $650-$700).

Personally, I think it's one very sweet looking phone, but if that price turns out to be true, then it's a definite "wait and see." Dunno how I feel about spending $600 on a phone that is probably easier to scratch than a plastic one....

But again, that’s just my experience and I’ve heard a lot of people say a lot of great things about Sony.

Thanks for the info that I was looking for. I was hoping the price to be little lower, but I guess I'll wait and see. How are the features of this phone compared to V710?

Thanks.

I agree with you, in some aspects.

Years back Sony made the worst Computers to date, Now look the Vaio Line is great, they have so many features and looks and everything, Not Saying its the best on the market but they have come a long way, The Sony Ericsson Line of phones are awesome though, there menu, features, are just great, I used to doubt Sony too, but the phones they make are just terrific

motorola is the only phone i would use, except the star tac. and if they were to bring back the nokia 5100 and 6100 series. i have yet to try the sony ericson line, but for durability it doesn't get my vote. nokia's line after the 3300 are a joke IMO. the samsungs are OK and so are the LG. so i'm for any motorola phones until something changes my mind.

this phone is supposed to be the slimmest and it uses mpeg4 video, so i'm already impressed. plus it has bluetooth

Remember, when comparing these phones, they are not the same technology (network). The V3 is GSM and the 710 is CDMA. Here's a comparison page that lists the two phones, side by side.

I totally agree with you. Sony makes some seriously good stuff and most of the time, everything works out great for their customers. However for this customer, for some reason, even their best stuff gives me problems. I must be Sony-jinxed or something...

When I first looked at the auction, I thought the guy was selling one phone for $900+. I then realized that it was a lot.

I have one question on V710. Can you use mp3's that you upload as your ringer?

Thanks

Yeah, it's a toss-up. In v710 instruction manual, the string/word "mp3" doesn't occur even once. It does reference the media gallery, which is where I would think stored media like mp3's would reside, but am not sure. If that is where they are stored, then if you look at the instructions on changing a ring type, it looks like it's pulling the tones from a different area. Just to make things even more confusing, they say you can "Download Poly" tones, but they don't say anything about them being mp3's, so that could mean it's just like any other phone out there that is capable of downloading poly tones. So, I dunno. I would agree with 2004TL and say "I would think it would", but I really don't know. It's one of those things where you would need to play with the phone in a store to find out for sure.

I was pretty sure you could, why would they add MP3 Capability and not let you use the song as a Ringtone.

Oraccatk and 2004TL, thank you very much for your help.

I think I'll buy the V710. I asked my local Verizon shop the other day about V3, they didn't even know which phone I was talking about. Anyway, thanks for all of your inputs!

Thats because that auction is a SCAM. Look at it closely. Payment is only via Western Union, and he says not to use the contact this seller links, but to use a different email address that he posted. That Ebay account was probably hijacked.

That was the first thing that popped in my head and I agree, but why do Dumbasses bid on it than?
