You know they have the preview for "developers" program, right? You can get the latest version right away.

Developers is in quotes because MS knows that 95% of people that use this program aren't developers but just enthusiasts. It's their way of bypassing carriers and OEMs and getting pre-release updates to enthusiasts ASAP. It's pretty awesome.

I'm already on 8.1 update 1 on my 1020. 8.1.1 comes on the M8 officially though.

That M8 looks nice and I like the dot view case integration. I'd seriously consider getting one if the camera didn't suck. I can't go from 41mp to 4mp, the zoom feature is too handy to lose.

If the drop the camera on the next version and get something decent I might switch because the One was the only android phone I was interested in.

Some of the things that can be done with the Lumia 950 series is downright impressive in my opinion.

All we need is a damn release date now, instead of "soon".

I picked up a 640 for pennies the other day as a running/workout phone. I have to say, I'm impressed. However, the platform is dead unless they do some serious app importing.

Blu Win HD LTE

Does anyone have the Blu Win HD LTE? Amazon has all the colors marked dow to $49.99 {originally $199 last year} so I am tempted to buy it as a backup.

I tried the 521 & liked Windows but had to switch back to Android bc I needed certain apps. I have also have another Blu phone which worked fine so I am considering this purchase but thought I would see if anyone here had any opinions ... ?

That's a nice looking phone. Very reminiscent of the HTC M7.

I honestly don't use the 640 outside of exercise, and even that is hit or miss. As a backup phone, it'll probably do you well, but you might as well look at some cheap Android options as well.

Well with the sale of MS Factory in Vietnam and their move over to the surface platform, Windows Mobile once again is going the way of the dodo bird...

Foxconn now owns all of the Luimia IP and manufacturing rights

Microsoft underlined that the corporation will continue to develop Windows 10 Mobile and support Lumia phones including the Lumia 650 and Lumia 950 XL and devices from OEM partners such as Acer, Alcatel, HP, Trinity and Vaio. The Redmond based corporation sells all of its feature phone business including brand, software, services, customer contracts and important provision agreements.

The deal is expected to be concluded in the second part of 2016, subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions

I'm moderately surprised MSFT hasn't made a Surface phone with a MSFT launcher running on Android.
