They just installed a new antenna on the roof of the building where I work. And my friends are bragging about how they get free text messages and unlimited talk time for $40 a month and I don't.

So... how good is this Metro PCS thing?

I had it for about a year and a half after cancelling my Bellsouth PCS service about 4 years prior since I really didn't need a cell phone then anyway.

MetroPCS is the worst service I've ever had. Poor reception pretty much everywhere and constantly dropped calls. The only good thing was no contract, but even then I don't think it was worth it. I eventually cancelled them and went to Cingular.

They may be better now, but when I had them from '03 - '04 they really sucked.

 

metroPCS ins ATL is fine now... I actually lived in ATL and moved to LA 2 yrs ago. I work at metropcs store and we sell alot. theres no other like it besides boost unlimited (cost 20 more monthly for same plan). No contract no credit check unlimited EVERYTHING. holla if you got questions.

 

All the guys in the office were given MetroPCS in South Florida and they worked great. I think the plans were under $50 unlimited everything so you cant complain about that plus everyone kept saying how good the service has become

 

I agree. I've heard the service here is much better now than when first released. Only thing is that you have to buy the phone.

 

My mom still has a bunch of problems & spotty service.

 

Is she down in Dade or up in Broward?

 

Broward. She doesn't even get signal in my house. She has to go outside. I get full bars on my Sprint phone, & other people with at&t get service just fine.

 

Yeah AT&T seems the strongest down here. I had Sprint before I got Cingular (now AT&T) and it was good except when in my house. 0 bars in my house. :wtf:

 

I'm bumping this thread because I want to know if anyone here has Metro PCS currently? I pay too much for ATT service and the unlimited text/talk sounds really attractive.

I live in NYC/NJ metro area so if anyone with Metro PCS in this area can tell me about call quality/service it'll be much appreciated.

 

So nobody in the Tri-State area has Metro PCS?
