Latest from Sprint???

I e-mailed Sprint the other day to inquire about Bluetooth phones. I got an e-mail back telling me three are available, and even provided a link to their "Phones". Well, none of the phones in her e-mail were listed!

I'm sorry I don't have the information in front of me. One was an LG phone, one a Sony Ericsson, I believe. Not sure about the other.

Does anyone have any up to date information?

Thanks.

P.S. Instead of one "sticky" thread for Bluetooth, how about a Sticky for each of the major cellular phone companies. Like most users, I'm stuck in the middle of a contract and can't change carriers any time soon.

To answer your request, sooner or later, we may set that up in Mobile Phone sub-F in Ramblings.

MOVE now.

I'm totally confused. I posted this under a heading that included "Bluetooth". This was a Bluetooth post. Just how many forum sections do we have here?

Theres 2 Mobile Sections, One under 3rd Gen TL and One under Ramblings (OFF TOPIC), it was moved to the off topic one, as the bluetooth one under 3rd Gen is only about Bluetooth problems and advice with the car, Normal Cell Phone talk goes to Ramblings/Mobile Sorry if I confused you

I wonder if I'll even get any responses over here! I look at this forum daily (for about nine months now) and never new this existed, and would have never thought that there would be another forum section for Bluetooth TELEPHONE issues. I think this is forum overkill.

The LG phone is very new. The announcement that Sprint would be offering it came out only a month or so ago. If memory serves, guesses were that the phone would actually be available toward the end of October. Third party descriptions indicated it was a fairly basic phone with Bluetooth as about the only whiz-bang feature. (Not that there's anything wrong with that. I know I don't need a camera and a video arcade in my cell phone.)

The Sony Ericson was apparently discontinued about 12 nanoseconds after Sprint started offering it. My guess is that's why Sprint customers have to go to great lengths to seek them out.

I'm unaware of a third phone. If you get more info I know I'd like to hear about it. I'm thinking of dumping Sprint just because of the Bluetooth issue.

Here is what they said in the e-mail was available:

Ericsson T608
Sprint PCS PPC-6601 (no idea what that is)
LG PM-325

I have about 18 months left on my contract. Even if I have a Bluetooth phone with them by then, I will dump them. It's obvious they are never going to be timely in keeping up with new technology.

Thanks for the help.

I can't say that I keep up with such things, but what I've read recently indicates Sprint is usually on the cutting edge of the new technology. For some reason though they've been dragging their feet on Bluetooth.

I spent last week driving around Arizone, Utah, and Colorado, and I can't say I was very happy with the Sprint coverage. I started actively looking for another carrier when I got back. So far, T-Mobile is looking like the best option. They have several Bluetooth phones available, they're currently offering 1000 anytime minutes and unlimited night and weekend minutes for $40, and they claim no roaming charges. Seems like a winner to me.

Actually it does have a camera.
