Know of any good softwares to fix gamma issues?

The other week the picture quality on the monitor looked awkward. I went as far as messing with the settings on the video card and monitor only to find out it was the monitor that was bad. Replaced the monitor, but now I can tell that the gamma is off (based on my video games). I did a system restore on it, but that didn't work. I'm going to best buy to see if I can find anything. In case I can't, would any of you have any suggestions as to what I can find online? Whether it be free or I have to pay for it is fine by me. I just need somethiing to do the calibration for me, or at least be very user friendly. I'm not too savy with computers...

Thanks in adavce fellas n gals.

Nvidia card drivers have gamma settings in the software. I'm guessing ATI does as well. What brand card do you have?

Geforce4, it's old. I played with it in there (assuming we're talking about right clicking the screen, going to properties, then going to advance setting where you find the video card), but I can't get the picture to come out the way it use to be.

Went to bestbuy, asked if they can calibrate monitors with video cards, and they said no.

On another note, I fell in love with HP's touch screen computer!

that's what I was talking about. Have you tried messing with the setting in the monitor itself. The default settings for the monitor are probably quite different from your old one.

I did, but for some reason this (newer) monitor doesn't allow me to change the gamma on the monitor itself like my old one did.

Is there any magnetic interference nearby? I know something seems to mess with the gamma on my monitor from time to time, but it ends up correcting itself. Calibration doesn't seem to fix it. I'm thinking it's my speakers being too close to the monitor.
