Guys, I just got a 1-way alphanumeric pager for work. I'd like to use it to keep abreast of breaking news and scores involving my beloved Terps. What service can I use to get these sent to me as they happen?

I'm especially interested in breaking news.

hmm they still use these? I suggest getting a Cellphone...preferable from bimmer in the blackmarket and sign up w/ the T-Zones plan you can get all your scores, weather, movie listings and everything!

 

You're an idiot. I got a pager -- I did not suggest an alternative to a pager.

It's a one-way pager. Because of the work I do, you cannot bring a two-way device or non-volatile storage media into the area (cell phone, two-way pager, two-way remote start, PDA).

Everyone I work with has a one-way pager.

You guys crack me up.

 

I've got a pager too. They're much cheaper than cell phones for a company.

Mine's SkyTel. If you go to their website, you can subscribe to different news, sports, whatever.

I never checked out any other services.

But not I dnt know any services that do that and send you scores and stuff...

Only ones I know are the ones for cell phones...

I just saw ur other posts about work...my bad man...That sucks...most companies now adays around here use nextels by the company and get around to using those for communication and stuff

If your pager supports incoming messages via email, find out your email address for the pager, and use that to sign up for alerts.

 

BTW, most alpha pagers are two way, whether you can send messages or not. They have to acknowledge recipt of message.
