iTunes

I have a BRAND NEW DELL

Installed is Vista Home Premium, since I have had the computer I have not been able to get Itunes to work.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried running the .exe file as the administrator but that did not work either, it tells me " iTunes has stopped working......Windows is checking for solutions...."

and then it comes up with nothing.

I check iTunes website and the new 7.4 says it is compatible with Vista but I know its not.

Any ideas I can do or anyone fix this before. I can't DL any new songs to my ipod in a couple of weeks and it sucks.

Joe

Have you read through the iTunes forums? There's probably someone else out there with your problem.

I heard Vista automatically adds DRM to all music files and such, know anything about that?

HAHA!! Welcome to using Apple products. Honestly and I'm not trying to talk shit iTunes just sucks and it crashes all the time. I have the same problem as you!! You have to be gentle with it, you can't do too much at the same time or it will crash!! I can't even watch video podcasts too much cause that always crashes it. I think that's cause it uses quicktime and quicktime is worse than iTunes. I literally can't get through watching a quicktime video without getting a data execution error (memory buffer overflow)!! So I just don't use it unless I really have to and when I do it crashes. So for mp4 videos I use videoLAN VLC player instead and have had no problem or any other problem with say divx player or WMP.

When I was first getting iTunes up and running with Vista I was having the same problem so I just babied it and don't do any multi-tasking with it.
Like don't sync your iPod and try to import music at the same time or it'll Now that I got everything up and running it doesn't crash as much but's definitely crashed more than any other program I have.

i think its pretty much noted that itunes on windows is no where near as stable and great a program to use as it is on OSX. Therefore, itunes gets crappy rep from all the windows users out there. coincidentally it works the same for MS word on OSX...constantly crashes and not well optimized.

What? I'm not exaggerating at all!! I'm gonna agree with siddig on this one!! I think Apple's windows staff isn't that great and is probably just a small portion of it's programmers. I wish they'd try harder, iTunes, quicktime and Safari are ambassadors for Apple and when they don't do well in the Windows enviroment then it sure doesn't make people want to switch to more Apple products. I haven't used office too much with OS X but I have seen it crash so the same could maybe be said about MS. Not that any Apple users will ever switch to MS..wait what am I talking about I DID!!

I knew I was gonna get neg repped for telling of my experiences with iTunes on Windows. With Vista it keeps track of all the program crashes so if you want I can go through and count them all for you and iTunes will be the winner. Sorry it hasn't been good, don't blame me though!!

Internet Explorer also sucked big time on OSX. It was terrible.

anyway, i can honestly say you didnt get any rep from me on this one. If I was able to, I'd repay the favor you did in the last ipod thread.

Just doesn't seem to be a big problem for me (never crashed on my Vista - however, I only use it to transfer music to my Ipod).

Pretty amazing. I even said itunes on PC isnt so hot and I still got negative for posting in an apple related thread.

But really, again, if your going to leave messages such as "STFU!" along with other things said. On the internet no less. Have some fucking gusto and sign your name. Christ I can't believe are so scared of being "found out" they cant even be man enough to leave a FAKE username. pretty damn pathetic.

Again Siddig I hope you're not talking to me cause it wasn't me that neg repped you. Whoever neg repped me didn't leave a name or anything either. Some of these Apple fanboys are childish and immature you gotta keep an eye out for them.
