Has anyone replaced their Gen1 nano through this recall? http://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano_replacement/

Looks like peeps are getting Gen6 replacements now. Going from a 1GB Gen1 to an 8GB Gen6 would be . I just filled out the form, they are going to send me an empty box.

 

I'll have to wait until my son gets home to see where it is.

Hasn't worked in over a year and I got it free when I bought my TL.

 

I've done this replacement program and can confirm they are replacing them with 8gb touch screen nano's.

 

Funny thing is the battery on my gen2 nano only lasted about a year, funny how they aren't going to replace that. However my classic iPod is still going strong 7 years later and has been through hell and back.

 

6 weeks AFTER you send in your current unit? No big deal unless its the only one you have, like my fiancee who just uses it when she goes to the gym these days

 

Got return package today, just wish I could have slowed down FedEx guy to take it back.

 

Received my replacement Gen6 today.

 

MAN !! They take forever, they have had mine since 13 Jan. How long does it take to tell someone to send me one. HELL just send me an e-mail to pick it up at the local Apple Store.

 

Should be soon, they received mine on Jan 18th.

 

Just submitted the info on mine. I thought they would let me know if it was eligible or not, but they said they are shipping me an empty box. Hopefully that means it qualifies, and I'm not going to return it for nothing.

I've been using my gen2 nano for ~7 years and it still is going strong, and I use it all the time when I run or work out

 

Good to hear. That's what I was hoping. I have a 2GB white one that works fine except the battery only lasts about an hour. Looks like people are getting the silver one in exchange.

 

I just got the confirmation email explaining what to do when the box arrives. I have to ship it to Elk Grove.
I could drive there, pick up a new one and be back home in less than 2 hours.

I just noticed the paper they sent with the return package says I will get an email from Apple when they receive my returned ipod. I sent mine back on the 16th I believe. It was a 2 day return, and I haven't gotten any email confirming Apple received it. Did you guys get notice that yours was received?

 

I still have not gotten mine. They have had it since 13 Jan 2012.


Just off phone. They said about 2 million Nano's to be filled. Running behind, this week should be able to clear up backlog. I'm at the six week mark, so hopefully I get something next week.

 

Got my daughter a new Nano through this program. Newest gen nano (memory unknown).
