Image saved in IE disappears

I don't typically use IE, but the software for my CCTV DVR is IE only. I have IE8 on Windows 7 64 bit. I am trying to save screen shots off live and recorded images. There is a snapshot option in the software, so I am not using right click, save image as, but rather right click and snapshot. When the window opens up to choose the save location, the images I previously took a snapshot of shows. When I navigate to that same folder from My Computer, the images are not there. I tried several images, and saving in several different folders, all with the same result. I checked to make sure I don't have any settings to hide content, all settings are set to show hidden files and folders. I can't figure out what is the issue. Anyone have any ideas?

if you are saying that when the Save As screen comes up you see the other saved files in there but you do NOT see them when you try navigating to that location in Windows, I would suspect that they are saved under a different windows profile. Is it saved somewhere inside the Libraries? If so, that is likely what is going on, where it appears to be empty in one place but is not empty in another. Go to C:\users and see what profiles you have in there - look in the specified location inside each profile and see if you can find your snapshots.

In the Save dialog, right-click in an open area and choose properties. Copy the location path and paste it into Start>Run or an explorer address bar.

Haven't had much time to reply. I have one account on the machine. I tried saving as the original file name, changing the file name. I tried creating folders within different folders and saving. I tried saving in My Pictures, Documents, Downloads. Nothing seems to work. I tried searching for the file name, nada.

Have you tried using the Windows 7 snipping tool?
