Wouldn't that be nice?

Very cheap to implement.

Oh and while being there, I'd want also an universal remote control.

Really? This is a good idea. I have a tiny LED flashlight on my set of keys. Why not integrate this on a cellphone?

Sony Erricson Accessories has an input for a lazer pointer, or blue LED light torch that you can add to the bottom of your phone were you usually charge for battery.

I remember a friend who had a nokia that had a built in led flashlight, not a flash for a camera but an actual flashlight. It was a cool feature but the phone sucked.

Just get a mini keychain flashlight. My Samsung has a built in flashlight, but for emergency situations I can't see it being any useful as it stays on only for a few seconds and then turns off. I have to press and hold then release to get the flashlight going once more and repeat as necessary.

Do the other cell phone flashlights stay on like a regular flashlight?

My Sanyo PM8200 has one (flash of camera). I've used it numerous times....had the phone since mid-last year so they've been out for a while.

Is the screen not bright enough?

I just open my cell phone when my dad forgets to leave the light on for me. It may not create a solid beam, but it gets the job done.
