I got 17 1st Class Letters from Microsoft Today
Open the mailbox and see 17 identical letters from Fargo ND zip. Open the first one, and it suppose to be an invoice from Microsoft for a product that I never heard of until today... Azure.
The quality of invoice and the letter... my 15 y.o. daughter could fake it better in MS Word. No contact number, double type of the name, etc.
I called support four or five times... Indian rep.,,, and he gives me the number for the National "Do not Call list" the same four times. Finally call an operator to get a MS number in Redmond, WA. I ask the chick for the fraud dept. and she cuts me off.
"Ef" MS. I sent a nasty email a few minutes ago. If they do not respond in 3 days, I'm calling the FBI to fuck with them.
BTW, AMEX called 2 months ago about questionable activity to MS and cut them off and issued my a new card and number.
But MS has fucked with the wrong guy. I have alot of time before classes begin again on Jan. 15th.

How does getting letter in the mail turn into "bogus charges to MS" on your CC bill?

In case you haven't heard, the "Nigerian" scammers have moved from e-mail to snail mail. I advise you stop leaving your real address at suspect (pron, etc) sites.

A letter, no. 17 in one day yes. I'm not blaming MS per se. But their lack of interest that somebody is sending invoices in their name is unbelievable. If it was a fake CD with MS in the label, they would be crying to the Justice Department.
Good luck getting in touch with anyone that it would matter to. The bureaucracy of such a large corporation seems almost impenetrable to the average consumer. And even so, I doubt it's worth it to them to pursue every such situation. If the scam were wider spread (which would probably have to be digital), I'm sure they would have already taken interest.
