Attention Pre/Pre+ owners, I installed WebOS 2.0 on my Sprint Pre
And yes, it works and I kept all my info intact. It's not sluggish, I'll be overclocking it (again) to 800 mhz in the next few days, waiting for a more stable kernel.

HP Touchpad on sale July 1st!
http://blog.palm.com/palm/2011/06/hp...ts-a-date.html

HP TouchPad: It’s a date!
Mark your calendars and cue the fireworks -- we’ve got something for you to really celebrate: HP TouchPad availability beginning July 1.
HP TouchPad The Wi-Fi version of HP’s first webOS tablet will be available in the U.S. on July 1, followed by the UK, Ireland, France and Germany a few days later and Canada in mid-July. And continuing HP’s phased rollout, webOS fans in Australia, Hong Kong, Italy, New Zealand, Singapore and Spain can expect to see HP TouchPad later this year.
HP TouchPad will be available from U.S. retailers, commercial resellers and direct from HP for $499.99 (16GB) or $599.99 (32GB). If you just can’t wait for July, preorders in North America and Europe will begin June 19.
Need something more to whet your appetite? HP also said today that it will be partnering with AT&T to introduce a connected version of HP TouchPad later this summer. No details yet, but stay tuned.

I have a Palm Pilot... it's monochrome and comes with a stylus to enter your contacts and dates...even have a leather carry case for it. Aren't you so jealous.
Also have a Dell Axim, and it's in color!

Very true...but these arent doing anything outside of the box with their product either as far as I see...not at the moment anyway.
Its just competition for the company that did start it all.
I used to love Palm...they lost me in a big way with shitty products and crappy quality.

Which apps? I have hundreds of good apps to chose from. Plus the homebrew community is spectacular. It's easy to make apps for WebOS, its just a flavor of Linux.
I don't know what apps, they are too many to even think about it. Easy to make sure, but someone has to make them the way HP wants it done. And HP is given them trouble. People send a lot of many to make a good app, hundreds of thousand of dollars in some cases I've seen reported on MSNBC. A market has to be there or they're not coming. People use Apple because it's set up for them and laid right out in front of them, they don't want to worry about making apps, just getting them. So no apps, no success.

I bought a TouchPad today. I love it! Skype and Flash websites work well. All my contacts/calendars synced within minutes as did my apps from my phone.

My multiple email accounts separated themselves and synced perfectly. Exchange accounts send/received email immediately, much like a Blackberry is famous for. I have this set up on my Pre as well.
The screen is very clear, great viewing angles and about equal to an iPad2 in quality. IPS and Gorilla Glass, it has a premium look to it. Fingerprints and smudges of course make themselves known quickly.
I got a few apps that were free from HP, including the essential Angry Birds HD, IheartRadio which my wife loves so she can listen to her favorite terrestrial radio stations, USAtoday is optimized for the TouchPad, same with Epicurious (recipes and cooking) and finally one of my favorites, Sporting News Pro Baseball. It added all of the Red Sox games to my calendar (using its own red color as requested by me)
Edit: A nice touch is the 50 gigabytes of 'cloud' storage for FREE. Basically I can upload documents, movies and music from my computer and drag/drop on the TouchPad what I want. So far it works flawlessly.
There have been a few (rare) interface hiccups which according to HP will be fixed in next week's software update.

HP offers $100 discount on TouchPad for one weekend only
BY CHRISTOPHER TROUT

Back when we reviewed HP's webOS slate, we said it might be worth your time if it cost $100 less. Well guess what? It does, or will, this weekend. This is a fleeting discount, however, with the slab sale starting tomorrow and ending Sunday. But at $400 and $500 for the 16GB and 32GB versions, respectively, it might just be worth the asking price. Now, we wouldn't go skipping any meals, but if you've got the cash and an undying allegiance to a dying brand, we say go for it. A list of terms and conditions can be found at the source link below.

$399 for 16G ...Is it expandable via micro SD?
HP just officially reduced the TouchPad by $100 off MSRP. You can probably stack that $100 off coupon at Staples for $299 for the 16 GB version and $399 32 GB version just like how it was for the Android tablets the other week.

It’s been a month since the HP TouchPad was released, and you’ve been holding off on the purchase. Well, this weekend might be the time you want to pounce, because we’re seeing a perfect storm of discounts at Staples. As we mentioned earlier, Staples has a coupon for the TouchPad good for $100 off the TouchPad. HP is also offering a $100 instant rebate on the TouchPad. These discounts are available for both the 16GB and 32GB TouchPads, and Staples, the awesome new entrants to the tablet market that they are – will let you combine them to the tune of $200 off - a deal that several of our readers have reported taking advantage of.
That’s a 32GB TouchPad for $399.99, or a 16GB TouchPad for – wait for it - $299.99. Three. Hundred. Dollars.
