I placed two orders on B&N:The first one at 10:00 PM last night (about 30 minutes after the Slickdeals post went live). I bought one without making a B&N account and used a debit card. The second right before I went to bed at around 12:30 AM this morning. The second time around, I bought one and made a B&N account and used the same debit card.
Both charges have cleared my bank (although ones for 115.57, the other for 116.24), but only the 2nd order has an expected ship date of 8/24/11.
No cancellation emails yet, so I hope atleast one makes it to my doorstep.

After having worked for Bestbuy, OfficeMax, and Circuit City (back in the day), don't trust what they say on the phone. Especially with this kind of sale. Just go in yourself.

BTW, for those that are lucky enough to actually get one from this firesale, apparently there are already a group of Devs looking to port over android... and semi confirmation from another group of devs stating that once android makes it over, they will port over cyanogen.

Best Buy employees are some of the biggest idiots in the workforce. I was there the other day with a quick question. The lady at the desk was on the phone being asked about Compact Flash cards. She said she had never heard of them, Best Buy didn't carry them and for her to call a local camera shop. 
I realized she probably couldn't answer my question and asked for a manager instead.

My advice, keep checking slickdeals thread and keep checking HP's consumer and small / med business site. I scored through Amazon, though it was short lived. HP authorized the purchase on my card according to my bank but the server timed out as the purchase was going through. Calling Warren..

You know, I only ordered these cause I thought it was a steal of a deal for the hardware... but now after reading up on it, I actually WANT one...

Well the parents on each side get one because they're computer illiterate. We're keeping one / two (undecided) but the other two are definitely being sold. If Ron A / family / friends don't want them, I'll put them in the BM. Not looking for profit.. apparently there are droves of people buying these in bulk (30-100) and trying to off them on fleabay for 250+ Dumbasses..
