The way these are selling HP should just take the loss on these TouchPads and keep their tablet division open.

They're probably going to sell every single one ever made at these prices.

Samsung did say something about wanting webOS a while back. Too, it seems kind of strange they would give up on the touchpad so quickly if they didn't have an underlying plan. We shall see.

People report getting emails that say to contact B&N regarding order even though you can still add item to cart and pay for it.

Hum... I just placed an order and haven't received that email yet. Also, it states that you are not charged until the order is shipped so you shouldn't have to worry about somehow getting ripped-off.

EDIT - Now I'm reading that you will NOT receive this email if you order as a guest (which I did). Lame.

I bought two and really hope it doesn't cancel on me (OnSale).

I just don't get it when people ask if this is even worth it. A tablet with these specs will NEVER be this cheap. It is only this price because HP is discontinuing it.

Before this sale, I have never heard of an HP TouchPad before. I have been drowned by news of the iPad, Xoom, Transformer, and Galaxy Tab. But when I heard that an HP tablet is on sale for 100 bucks, I did not hesitate one bit to buy it. A tablet for 100 bucks is totally unheard of and it is just too good to let go.

People on slickdeals have reported that if you paid with paypal through B&N, you'll get the "unable to process". Whereas if you paid with credit card, you'll get an expected ship date.

EDIT: nm, people have been getting cancellation emails after their expected shipment email.

I bought two 32GBs on Friday, and the fact it has an IPS display sealed the deal for me. I would've bought them even at $300 a piece, as it's still a great deal for a well built tablet. I've gotten the hang of WebOS on the Pre Plus, too, and now prefer it to Android.

As for as the HD2, which other handset can run 5 different operating systems? That being said, I sold my HD2 the other day, haha.

I'm downloading the SDK and checking it out in a bit. Probably nothing will come of it, but I'll have much more interest in doing something for this considering everything is pretty much covered for iOS and Android.
