Hewlett-Packard: TouchPad News and Discussion Thread

Like I said pages earlier, HP has inadvertently stumbled upon the way to get the product hype Apple has achieved without having some white dude wear a black turtle-neck sweater, jeans, and runners on stage yacking about it.
though I did take a few prods at you and your BearsI'll take one perhaps from anyone, if someone is feeling charitable enough. I don't see myself high on the priority list though since I want one, but not that badly.
Uh...have you been in the iPad and iPhone threads...?

meh, I stay out of those Apple threads anyway. Too much to keep track of. I'll get all the details once the thing is actually released.
Yeah, but usually those are about Apple's keynote presentations or whatever about multiple products. And this thread reached 25 pages (55 posts/page for you noobs) in about a week

The main thing I like about this is the wireless charging and the good audio processor in it that would probably make my Klipsch X10 earbuds sound amazing compared my HTC phone.

Yep, the price got me to get it, and if the device sucked, it would not be hyped. Truth it, its not perfect, but its very good. The audio is great, the web browsing experience is better then the Ipad and android, the screen is clear, its fast and just works and feels natural.
hrm, it appears that my 32GB from eBay got cancelled. i got my money refunded but this is what the seller said
Message from merchant: Paypal and eBay froze my account, even though I provided them invoices that I purchase these items I am selling, there has been no customer dispute just eBay and paypal being the controlling people/business they are. Sorry, but I am having to refund you.
I've got a Touchstone and case on order from costcentral, but I won't know for a couple of days if they'll actually ship it. Says they have a ton in-stock, but who knows.
How much was everything?

Well that FAQ link confirmed that I didn't order in time through SMB.
Went ahead and bought a netbook instead!
Not sure if I still need to cancel the HP order. That ship/arrival date is confusing me...

I hope I get that email from HP, last week at their site it said they were out and had you enter your email address for updates, I did that. Now hopefully when I get that email I'll be in front of a computer to hop on there and get it.
Seriously, dude...It's a neat thing for the price. But, it doesn't do anything that you already own doesn't.
You obviously have a computer and iPhones (galore)...so, you're fine. Just wait and I'm sure you'll get one. If not, still not the end of the world. It's just a tablet...which to me, is a big glorified smartphone that can't make phone calls.

The TouchPad is pretty much now my wife's. Got her set up on the wireless keyboard and Touchstone now. It's neat but I have the same set-up on the desk next to her except my screen is 4X larger and I also have a mouse if I decide not to use the touchscreen on the VAIO.

So again...just not sure how and why tablets are so...great?
i dont have a laptop. my desktop is glued to my desk.
and i absolutely hate surfing the net on a 3-4inch screen.
and i dont want a laptop.
at the price this was going for, it suited all my needs for what i wanted.

Just wait for the initial "hype" to die down.
how much was the touchstone? amazon has them for $65 and "free" shipping if a prime member.
