So I just had a lovely talk with an HP rep...
6-8 weeks wait time on most orders from that Saturday to Monday (4am), why? They are actually manufacturing more touchpads to fulfill orders. $#@###$$#!!!! ok, I'll sit and wait quietly, and use my touchstone as a book holder.

The CC hold fell through on my card, they told me not to worry, they can't hold an authorization charge indefinitely, once they will assign tracking number, they will charge the card.
I don't know if the answers I was getting were legit or just to get me off the line. We'll see. But definitely no mentioning of any cancellation, so we are all good, just without a concrete answer of when.

Well that is some good news. However still going to see if I can acquire one some other way as well cause I will give in and buy an Android tablet if I am forced to wait 6-8 weeks.

Friend came through and got me a 32 GB... but instead of having me pay him, he just told me to give him my 16 GB and that he'd resell that for profit. (Sorry Aziners~ <3).
Just ordered the Touchstone charger, and debating on if I need the keyboard or not....

Love mine too. Only wish there was a working RDP... I think I read that Logmein works through the browser, but haven't tried.

Amazon for $60 bucks... Supposedly going to be shipped to my office by 9/8/11.

Also thinking of getting a cover professionally installed from a place that's down the street from me. Website here: http://www.fusionofideas.com/ Looking at the Carbon fiber back and having them put on a screen protector.
I've used them before to install a cover on my GF's Ipad, Iphone 4 (this was back when they were located at the Irvine Spectrum) and when they charged 1/2 of what they're charging now.

From Datavis facebook comments: Some people are now reporting that all orders will be cancelled as confirmed by reps over the phone. Can anyone here confirm as we I trust the users here more than those on facebook.
If it's confirmed then I just wasted my time with that eBay sale. And now I have none.

I'm happy that HP touchpad is getting all this hype...maybe other manufacturers will come to their senses and realize that students (or many people) cant spend 600-800 on a freaken tab, they might as well get a laptop/computer. They need to target the purchasing power better and lower the damn prices.

I dont, but its hard to part with it. Its like I would sell it to be nice, but I also wouldnt mind having the extra one.
