Hackintosh
I know lots of you have MACs, but for those of us not willing to shell out for the hardware, there is a nifty way to run OSX on your windows computer for free (For trial purposes. A valid license of OSX is required to fulfill licensing requirements).
You need two things:
-Virtualbox (free)
-iAtkos ML2 (Torrent d/l of a OSX distro set up for x86)
Then follow the instructions posted here:
http://www.macbreaker.com/2013/01/ia...irtualbox.html
And you will be up and running!
A few notes:
Not everything is perfect. USB3 ports don't seem to work on the guest. Also, ACPI does not seem to work correctly, so you basically hard shutdown each time.
The result:

On both my Macs I have Fusion running 8, XP and Linux on the OSX partition and OSX running on Virtualbox on the Windows 8 Bootcamp partition. Now thats proof of concept.
Im thinking about tripple booting them all with 8, Mavericks and Fedora, but I really can't find a use for Linux.

I've been doing this for a while, it's quite fun. With the exception of a bootloader file, mine runs natively. NO virtual boxing!

x86 only I do believe.
Hackintosh has been around forever. Technically, per the EULA, OSX is only to be installed on Apple hardware. So you are breaking the rules there.
I hackintoshed for 2 to 3 years before I bought my first Mac. It's a great way to learn. However, drivers and updates can really make it too big of a pain in the ass to deal with. IMO, get it setup how you want and never touch it again. Lol

Lol, well Jeffords post ironically isn't Hackintosh, its just a VM for OSX. Hackintosh is actually installing OSX on a Windows PC or Laptop (which needs x86). It generally is installing a modified kernel of OSX which different "drivers" are used to get it working the best possible. Dell mini netbooks are famous for working very well, but there are other now.
I tried a Hackintosh once and found it complicated and slow. I also found running OSX in a VM is slow as well. If you want to learn a Mac, get a new or slightly used Mac (mini's will be the cheapest).

Correct, I am not running natively on the Host hardware, but in a Virtualbox VM. I still need me my windows, but wanted to see if I could make OSX work in a VM.
Just read the SLA.
I'm a Mac systems administrator. I'd be running nothing but rack mounted servers running VM of OSX if this weren't the case.
Like we both said, who cares though. And like stogie said, it's not a criminal offense.

Ironically you can run two copies of OSX on your Mac:
(iii) to install, use and run up to two (2) additional copies or instances of the Apple
Software within virtual operating system environments on each Mac Computer you own
or control that is already running the Apple Software, for purposes of: (a) software
development; (b) testing during software development; (c) using OS X Server; or (d)
personal, non-commercial use.

Tried doing OS X 10.8.4 on my new Haswell system, didn't do too well. Apple simply hasn't released anything to the public (yet) that'll support the new chipset. Wondering if Mavericks has the files I need

I currently have a decent desktop that is running Windows (Ryzen 2700, 16GB, Radeon 5700)
Can I add another SSD to my desktop and setup a dual boot for OS X/Windows? The few places I've looked online all say that OS X has to be installed first, that seems like too much work to me. I don't want to have to go through reinstalling Windows and reinstalling all the crap that goes along with that.
