Google+ seems like a "reaction" to Twitter/Facebook. But are you starting to see the ways that Google+ just makes Google a better, more integrated set of services? Google already has top-notch products in key categories--photos, videos, office productivity, blogs, Chrome, Android, maps and (duh) search. Can you start to see/imagine what Google+ does for Gmail? Picassa? Youtube? Not to mention search? The +1 system that Google now has control of (unlike Facebook Likes) can really influence and change the nature of their search.
My original vision for MS was that everything got better when it was social--so I tried to build all the super popular things used on the web (blogs, music, classifieds, events, photos) on top of MySpace's social layer. When Yahoo launched 360, MSN launched Spaces, and Google launched Okrut, I was shakin in my boots. But quickly I saw that it's really hard to layer in social to features after the fact. At MySpace we had the luxury of having social first, and building the products on top of that layer. Then I choked and Facebook realized that vision. ;-)
But Google+ really seems to be primed to make good on that original premise--that everything gets better when its social. And unlike FB, Twitter, or anyone else, Google already has the most advanced set of products. And if I can clearly see where this is headed, then I think what we are getting is a much better Google. Does that kill FB/Twitter? Who cares? I'd use all 3, but more importantly, I'll be using Google products I never used, or use them in new, better ways I never used them before.
Oh yah and I love my Google TV

What we're seeing in the early stages of G+ is the integration of +1 and Picasa onto G+. The other stuff will be coming as well such as Google Docs, Voice and whatever other Google product they have (Probably even the Android Market). G+ is rolling this thing slowly cause they're betting the whole company on G+ and if it fails, they'll fail badly.
What I love about Google is their Phone service. I make free calls on my Mac all the time and as well as when i didn't have unlimited text messaging, Google Voice would let me text message from my Blackberry as much as i possibly wanted. When you say Facebook killer, I think Google is truly going out for the Kill. They are so above and beyond any other voice over ip service, Email service, Social networking service, and more. Its amazing what they have to offer and most of it is free that's the great part. Who ever is not invested in this company should go out and do so. Its gonna reach a point that when it takes off HARD its gonna take everyone and their mother with them.

I think the main purpose of google + is to have access to the kinds of info facebook does.....i.e. images. Google is the number one search engine, but it is still quite limited. For example, if you do an image search for "bear in a river", most of the results won't be a bear in a river. This is because the image search is based on the HTML description and/or the page where the image is. Now, if you have millions images uploaded with captions and comments, it will be much easier to find what you are looking for.
Facebook already has billions of photos with billions of tags and comments, but they have yet to figure out how to search it. Google wants (needs) that info to beat facebook to the next search engine technology.
The +1 thing was started for this reason. +1 a link that yielded the results you were looking for and now your friends search will be improved and so on.

Well, now we know that Google+ is the equivalent of Alaska in the social networking world: At least two sites tracking Google+ user demographics say males make up more than 73 percent of the site's users.
Mashable's Jolie O'Dell cites SocialStatistics and FindPeopleOnPlus for the numbers, which are as high as nearly 87 percent on the former, and almost 74 percent from the latter.

Yes, if he is in a circle of your, he will see posts made to that circle. But you won't necessarily posts of his unless he adds you to a circle and includes that circle in his posts.
No offense to him, I'm sure he is a nice guy, but he is about to be removed from my circle because I'm not into seeing advertisements for his company all over my wall.

Maybe the OP should be updated but then we'll be sharing our real names with our aliases.
