Good Unlock Sites

Hello. I just bought a Nokia 6230 that may or may not be locked onto a Cingular network and need to unlock it...

I would appreciate it if someone would kindly post or PM me a link with some good unlock info.

Thank you in advance.

www.howardforums.com
cellphoneforums.net
www.cellphonehacks.com

there are lot of sites like that, I hope they will help you... By the way, if you go to Cingulair store, they should be able to unlock for you without a problem, as long as the phone is not stolen. I did that a few times with Verizon.

howardforums, you can't ask for unlock codes. EmuMessenger, if you need your 6230 unlocked, just ask

Yeah, I knew howard does not like the unlock threads. I will have the phone on Tuesday.

Is it pretty easy to unlock?

Easy to unlock but the phone should be unlocked already. All Cingular phones with bluetooth are naturally unlocked.

Cool, that is what I heard, but I also heard/read I may have a problem using MMode (wireless data) on ATT with the made for Cingular phone.

Any thoughts?

Whoa, that is pretty cool! That will be a good reference site!

When it sends the message, does it send over the air programming, or just the information for you to key manually?

...it is OTA (over the air) programming. All you have to do is accept the new settings and you're done. This is the new millennium, it has to be automatic.

Thanks again for the quick response.

Is that an actual NOKIA website or a third party?

It's a genuine Nokia website...you can go to www.nokiausa.com and click support. It'll take you to the same link I posted.

I got the phone today and am in the process of getting things going.

Now, I have a new problem. I wanted to either IR or Bluetooth my contacts from the old phone, to the new, but my old will not let me get to a menu without a SIM.

Is there any way to power up a 3620 and get to a menu without a SIM? Grrr!

Go to any phone store and ask for a dead sim card. They will have plenty. Either that or since you have a 3620, put in YOUR sim card into the 3620, go into the menu and you can copy all your contacts to the sim card and then just swap sim cards. here is a good site to help you along: www.nokiahowto.com and its pretty much all the nokia menus online.

I tried that, but for some reason I am only able to add 1 at a time to the SIM! Grrr!!!

Do you have the 6230? I believe I have just discovered this phone does not have an active call timer. This is like my 8th or 9th Nokia and no in-call timer is Hope I am wrong.

Off to the store for a "dead" sim. Thanks again. Rep points for all of your help, if I am able!

Went to the store and they gave me a brand new SIM. Time to transfer the numbers.

Wonder if a brand new ATTWS SIM will be in demand once they are gone?!?!?
