What are they thinking? I look at all my email, some I delete without even opening. Some I just glance at real quick.

But now I see this new feature called Priority Inbox. When I click it, I see email that doesn't show up in my regular Inbox. Google has decided to identify what it thinks is important to me? And goes on to teach me how to train it so it doesn't accidentally miss something? Am I correct in thinking that I've now got 2 Inbox folders that I need to check and each one is mutually exclusive?

This is bullshit. Nowhere have I found a place to turn off this nonsense. I don't have time for this crap. One Inbox for this account, that's all I need. It doesn't need to be "improved".

Why take something as simple as a email Inbox and complicate it? I can understand how this sort of feature can be useful to someone who gets hundreds of emails a day. But how about just making the feature available to them, instead of just arbitrarily turning it on for everyone?

I'm sick and tired of all the "new and improved" things that companies are doing to help simplify our lives. It's gotten ridiculous. Last night I was at the grocery store..... If I put in my "bonus card" number I get the sale price on items I chose. Why do I have to put in a "code" to get the sale price? Is that my "reward" for being in their bonus club?

 

So far I don't see that and I hope I don't.

 

It'll get even better when the spammers/phishers figure out what triggers something to get sent to the Priority Inbox.

I'm also thinking that this isn't new... Is this Google's way of letting people know about different features that exist? By just arbitrarily and randomly turning features on?

 

Never had a reason to use priority in box

 

I've had it for several months. Everything is in your regular Inbox, the Priority stuff is marked with a yellow arrow.

It hasn't been forced upon me but......

If you click on the settings for your gmail there is a tab for "priority inbox". I have the options of "show priority inbox" or "do not show priority inbox" which to me doesn't really mean the same thing as "use" or "do not use priority inbox."
