i have a ati all in wonder card, and up until now i have used windows movie maker to capture video onto the computer, but im having issues with it now. and would like to know how else to get it from my vcr/camcorder(not digital) to my computer

i am a user of the AIW series as well. I'm on my 3rd card now, as i've enjoyed them, so i keep upgrading. anyway, one thing i would suggest is trying the Windows Media Encoder 9 software available for free download from MS. This is pretty good for creating WMV content, and depending on your source, it will even do HD.

however, all this freeware stuff might not work well with your setup because you are not using DV format, so you might have to jump through a few hoops.

one hoop might be that you have to use the TV function of the ATI software to rip the video to the hard drive. Then, once you have an AVI file created, use the Windows Media Encoder to create WMV content. AVI files will be decent quality, but huge file sizes, kinda like the difference between WAV and MP3, so you'll probably want to convert them to WMV.
