Finally, a cool phone from Verizon

Finally a phone worth buying. I’ve been waiting since October for this sucker to come out.

I just picked up my new LG VX4500 today.
Color screen, Speakerphone, Flip design & “Driving Mode”.
Driving Mode allows fully hands free operation without any extra kit.
Place & receive calls via voice commands over the loud & clear speakerphone.
Now I can drive, SHIFT GEARS, & still answer the phone if it rings.
No camera, but I didn’t want one.

Cost me NOTHING too.
Price 129.99
“Renew every two” Verizon credit 100-bucks
Mail in rebate 30-bucks.

More info………..

I've been happy with my LG. May be time to upgrade.

It looks just fine thank you. Smaller isn’t ALWAYS better.
I got big hands and some of the "tiny" new phones are a pain to use.

Function is more important to me, not just cool looks.
I love the voice recognition feature. No programming, it just knows how to “listen” right out of the box.

guess you didn't like the 6000 at all, or maybe have waited for the 7000?

either way, I like the LG phones. I didn't know there was a 4500 available. I still have my trusty 4400.

The 6000 doesn’t have Speakerphone and who knows when the 7000 will ever show up.
And even when it does, it doesn’t have speakerphone either.

Plus, there’s lots of talk on cracking down where you can go with a camera phone.
Many businesses & public places are already banning them or developing restrictions on their use.

#1, do you have any idea how ANNOYING speakerphone is??? honestly, wtf do you need it for??? that's a totally useless feature IMO, kinda like the camera on my LG6000, BUT at least i can have cool wallpaper and a feature that won't get my ass kicked for disturbing the peace

#2, the display on the 6K is 10x better than on the 4500 despite the fact that what's displayed is limited (software upgrades in the future might remedy that)

#3, many businesses and public places will never know i have a camera phone b/c i don't flaunt them around my belt like everyone else does just asking to be stolen

Don’t criticize until you’ve heard it.
It’s LOUD and CLEAR and sounds almost like one of those NEXTEL phones.

And I won’t be annoying anyone with it besides myself. I plan to only use it in the CAR.
When you drive a STICK SHIFT vehicle in traffic and the phone rings there’s no way to safely answer it when both hands are busy.

Now there is.

I'm loving the 6000 too, just put some mp3 ringers on tonight. Just like I love watching my friend's $300 nextel get no service and me having almost full signal wherever i go. IMO service/signal > phone

Whats this 6000 and 7000 phone you guys are speaking of??? I got my shitty old T730 and in about a year I can upgrade. So should I be looking out for anything? I really want a phone with a camera but Verizon only offers one at the moment.

Ummm.... Nevermind I just found out what the 6000 is. But what is the 7000 and when will it come out?

IMO, if yer just going to use speakerphone in yer car, buying a separate speakerphone kit for the car is worth the extra $$, while you can use that $129.99 (which is a rip on that model BTW) and upgrade to something more technologically advanced

to me, speakerphone on ANY phone is pointless unless you do conference calls for businesses and such for longer periods of time...otherwise, it's a pretty useless feature

I give up on you guys.
Read my first few posts in this thread and you’ll understand why I bought it.

I had one of those “in car” kits for my LG-510 and it was a pain to use and took up too much room in the car.

And BTW, it cost me a grand total of 1.80 for the phone.
YES a dollar eighty.
129.99 - 100 (renew every two) -30 Rebate
All I paid was the 1.80 tax on the 30 bucks.

Price 129.99"

:P

nah i understand if you tried the whole speakerphone kit in the car and didn't like it...hope the feature doesn't wear out on you too quickly

the speakerphone and voice activation does sound really useful in a car....my handsfree is a bitch to untangle. A camera is ultimately useless EXCEPT for having a cool background. I have a T720, and it is a piece of shit, and i wish i had a different background. Tell me more about the mp3 support on the 6000 though....
