Faxing from windows XP
#2
I don't think Windows XP has a built in faxing utility but I think the one from NT4 (or is it 2000?) can be installed some backdoor way. Or you can get any one of a million commercial/shareware/freeware programs out there.

Go to Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs - Add/Remove Windows Components and check the Fax Service Option.
This gives the full capability to send and receive faxes via your modem. It will also install a Fax Printer driver so you can output any printable document as a Fax.
