Fast Way To Delete Messages, Safely
I've got a Nokia 6131 and about 5000 messages I need to delete out of my inbox.
Is there a faster way than waiting 4 minutes for MARK ALL then another 4-5 minutes for DELETE ALL?
And yes, maybe I will start deleting them incrementally, and no, I am not going to break, or lose, or burn, my phone
as a fix-it-all solution
Great phone BTW
Thx!

I believe that on my old 6131 in the menu under messages there was a "Manage Messages" or "Clean Mailbox" function, it still took a ton of time for messages to delete but you didn't have to wait for all to be selected...

since November 06, when I got the phone (old one kept crashing when it stored 1000 msgs :| )...changed it so that anything over 3 weeks old is now automatically deleted *POOF*
dude, i was thinking about this last night....your phone takes an external storage card, do you have one?
IF you do, go into your messaging, then settings, then go into other, and select your memory card as the memory in use.
Now, all your txts will be stored on the card, and you'll likely be able to store as many as you like, without the phone ever crashing. If you want to delete them quickly, take the card out, and put it in a reader on your computer. navigate to the system/mail folder and delete all the directories in it. voila, all ur txts deleted

correct you are, however, this phone does not have that facility!
freaking go figure! 1-2 GB capacity and no way to change where text messages are stored...we'll I'm sure there is some way.
I can pull them off of phone over BT but thats just as slow. If I used the phone cable, which I don't plan on buying, maybe a little faster.
One of like 2 things Nokia dropped the ball on with this phone.
