??? DVD burning software video camera/dvd
Just a quick question for you experts out there. Im going to take my video's from my camcorder and put them on DVD's. Here is my question Do you guys know of any programs that can do this. Free ware or what ever. I was a circuit city and I see they have about 10 diffrent programs all for about 59.99 and up. If I have to I would go that route. Thanks for your help
Camcorder ----> Computer -----> DVD/r
Camcorder ----> Computer -----> DVD/r
www.videohelp.com can provide you with more info.
if you use a mac, i can help you. i have a canon ZR90 cam corder and i use firewire to connect to my G5. then i use Final Cut 2 Express to do any editting, then either iDVD or DVD Studio Pro.
if you're using windows, i can help you too. first power down your pc, then go to your nearest mac store and purchase yourself a real computer. then follow the steps above.
other than that, i'm sorry you have to use windows. i hope you're running an NT based OS with a lot of memory or be prepared for freezing and crashing

like stated above, how do you plan on transfering the data to your computer? is it digital, or is it analog?
as for software, both roxio and nero burn dvd. both are good at it, and user friendly, with lots of options.

I have a sony digital 8 handy cam and has a usb cable to I think they call it ilink. I was going to send it to the computer that way. I know you can capture the video in windows movie maker but then you need a program to encode it in dvd format. and a then burn it. Id like to find a program that will do it in one step. If there is freeware then thats better. If not there are some Ive found at circuit city.
w1- I agree with the Mac concept as far as photo editing or movie making. For most other applications that I do Pc woops up on the mac. Im going to be using XP with 2 gig of ram.

You will need a firewire input in your machince.
Go to www.dvdrhelp.com and download svcd2dvd freeware version 2 it lets you make your own dvds using all sorts of formats not just svcd so it'll let you use the ones from your camcorder. It also lets you make a main menu and add music to the menu. The only down side is that because it's the freeware version on all your dvd's on the top center it's gonna say SVCD2DVD, but whatever it's free. I use it all the time for movies my dad made while on vacation and movies I've downloaded. That combined with Shrink DVD and you can make yourself an anime dvd library.
