First impressions
Let me start by saying this your first reaction upon getting this phone will be "wow it seemed so much larger in the pictures"
This is a great thing because the phone has that "it feels right" type of feeling associated with it. When you pick it up it fits well in your hand and the tactile experience is one that will leave you very happy with your purchase.
I will admit if you have never owned a PPC before and you are not a g33k like myself this phone is not really for you. It is very feature packed and if you dont know how to utilize these features you will be left with a HUH??? look on your face trying to figure out this phone.
WM6 is a great product and is very smooth but i wanted a nicer home screen so I opted for the SPB product called mobileshell (http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/prod...obileshell/?en) this really enhances the already great features this phone has. I also installed some other 3rd party apps like resco explorer, a threaded sms app, and a picture mail add on as well. I added in the SPB weather features and configured my gmail. This phone truly is a powerhouse in a slim and stylish yet professional exterior.
Sooooo all this praise where are the complaints.....
Here we go my biggest beef is the fact you have to program the voice dial. THAT ANNOYS ME this is a new product and for it to not have out the box recognition like basic handsets from samsung and LG have. The toggle button like you will read in many reviews is a little flimsy but it does its job and works well. I am still learning the device so as of right now these are my only 2 complaints.

I've been with sprint since '99 and I wasn't under contract and haven't gotten any phone credits from them in the past so I guess I am kind a valued customer...

It's all in that thread. You are not supposed to be able to, but for some it does happen. The rep i talked with today said it couldn't be done at the beginning of our convo, at the end of our convo he said that it may possibly still be on there... I guess I'll find out when my first bill comes in

Luck of the retensions rep. It took several calls though. I suggest calling during the morning and not at night. My account is stellar though, always paid on time and I never call in for questions or ask for any credits and I have never gotten a new phone credit from them either.

Setup voice command dude, it's built into WM6 it requires no programming and uses your contact list directly. it also does a lot of other things...
Besides some cosmetic changes the 6800 is basically the same HW as the 6700....
D-pad is a huge gain, the 6700 joystick sucks
WM6, 6700 has wm5 but you can get custom ROMS for it...
Anyone with a 6700 that hasn't tried a custom ROM needs too..

Who knows when i may get the Mogul, but I wanted to pose the question:
Is it possible to transfer the text message data from the 6700 to the 6800? I'd hate to lose all my text messages.

im keeping the mogul but I want more iphone esq experience. I've installed some of the htc touch software but I have not been able to get the scroller or cube to work ... gotta wait for custom roms. that's the good part about the iphone. no need for customization bc of the sexy oem ui ... ms and htc need to take some notes!!!

Can anyone comment on Sprints service in major metro areas? I'm currently with Verzion but out of contract and would love to switch to a SERO plan with the mogul. I haven't had any problems with Verizon but that would save me $50 a month vs the Verizon plan for more minutes and phone insurance. Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

Since verizon is CDMA as is sprint, your service should be about the same. I don't have to many problems with sprint at all and with the SERO, I really think you should make the change and save the money. The Mogul is on the SERO website now for ~$290.
I think the big with Sprint is to AVOID customer service calls at all costs. Get a plan that will be more than you would ever need so you don't ever have to call them for anything. Their customer service can really suck!
The other downside with sprint is their lag in introducing new phones. But since the mogul is out now that shouldn't be a concern for a year or two.

I'm having issues getting activesync to work with bluetooth. My computer can see my mogul and my mogul can see my computer but I can't get Activesync to appear under available services.

Well I've had my Mogul for a week now and all I can say is wow. This is the best phone I've ever had. EVDO is faster than on my old Verizon Q and man I love the keyboard. Can't wait to the Rev-A update, and maybe a GPS update so I've heard about. Service in SD is about the same except in my apartment where Verizon was alittle better, becaue of them having another bandwidth that sprint doesn't have I think the 800 spectrum. But I put the phone on roaming only when I'm at home and it roams on Verizons network, so its crystal clear. Lovin it soo far!

Good question, the 6700 wasn't fully compatible. Though you could get it to work it wasn't a bullet proof BT connection. It drops the BT connection frequently, and getting it to pair was sometimes a bitch.
Not to mention the lack of batter/signal strength profiles out of the box.
I hope they got it right on the 6800...

I just ordered a Mogul today using the SERO plan and a made up email. lol Anyways, hopefully I will get better service than AT&T with my BB 8800. You can't beat $49.99 for 1200 anytime and unlimed data/web access.

Welcome to the club... yeah Ash if you didn't get unlimited text make sure you do. Go to the slickdeals posting for more info. I have really been enjoying my mogul. The one thing I could really use though is a better syncing program that will allow me to choose different calendars to sync and somehow keep the calendar and task items that me and the wife both need synced on both of our moguls.
o' Nd funny development on the pricing of ours, they accidentally credited my account the discounts for my phone and my wifes phone, but we hve 2 different accounts! So I got her account credited for the amont it ws supposed to be credited with and in the end we netted $100 on two moguls!

Don't worry. They'll catch it. My account was somehow credited $300 for the price I paid for my Treo 755. I went through two billing cycles before it was caught.
It's though, I just got back $375 in rebates from Sprint. $299 paid, $375 in rebates back. You do the math.

Anyone want a 6700, i have one for sale in the f/s section. BTW, i got to spend some time with the 6800. Though the userface isnt as smooth as the iphone, i like wm6's new features.

Do you have to call when ordering to get the unlimited text messaging or is there a code you can use when ordering online?
And I'll ask again, did anyone get their Mogul to work with the Hands Free Link?

So the thumbstick button on my 6700 crapped out on me this weekend while in Vegas.
I'm thinking about replacing the phone with the Mogul but I still have two questions/concerns.
1) Can the text message data from my 6700 be transferred to the Mogul?
2) What's the deal with the Rev A upgrade? Is that for later this year? I've started using my 6700 as a modem for my laptop and it's pretty nice. It's much faster than dial up, but no where near a low speed DSL line. Still gets the job done though, I can only imagine how much more faster the EVDO Rev A is.

2) From the searching and reading I have done, it's still "rumor" that Rev A is supposed to be out before the end of the year. I have not been able to find if there has been an exact time frame set yet. Sprint's website does say it's Rev A Upgradeable, but it does not list any dates (from what I can see)
