Costco sells 4G iPod with 15 iTunes songs, dock

Good prices!!!

Costco.com will begin carrying the regular iPod to its members on October 1st, according to the discount wholesaler's website. Costco.com will offer both the fourth-generation ("Click Wheel") 20GB and 40GB models in special bundles, offering a discount from standard retail pricing of the included items. The 20GB iPod bundle, available for $330, includes the dock ($40 value) and a $15 iTunes gift certificate, while the 40GB iPod bundle is available for the standard $400 retail price, but will also include the Apple standard Dock ($40), a Leather Carrying Case, iPod Dock, a gift certificate for 15 iTunes songs. Earlier this month, we noted that Costco.com carried a three different colors of the iPod mini bundle for $270 (iTunes gift certificate and armband included). Non-members pay an additional 5% fee on all items.

Yes that's still just a rumor. I am finding the 40GB to be more than adequate, I am so glad I didn't wait for the "60".

Thanks for software like stationripper, I have tons of MP3 that I rip half a day at a time from half a dozen radio stations. I have probably close to 15GB of radio station music. I could never live with the "20".

I think sooner or later i'll fill up 20gigs, but 40 is more than adequate. I'm still being selective, I dont want to put cd's i wont listen to on my 40. Also i only put full alubms on my ipod for now.

nobody needs a 60 gig ipod, 40 is way more than enough, unless you own like every damn cd in best buy or something!!

I beg to differ, all of my music won't fit on a 60.

Edit: I lied, I'm only at 50 GB even(14,760 mp3s), but that number will only increase.

That would be illegal. Not that I'd put trying it past Apple.

its only illegal if they get other makers of similar products to engage in 'price fixing'. i could be wrong tho.

It always thought that manufacturers were supposed to sell their products to wholesalers or large retailers and let them decide their own prices. Ordering everyone to sell at the exact same price sure throws a wet blanket on competition.

It depends on how you encode them, but the short answer is thousands. I have a hundred or so CDs ripped as 192k MP3s and its only around 15GB.
