Computer question

Hi everyone

If I may, can I have someone answer a computer related question for me? I hate computers and don't care how they work, so my query may sound a little stupid.

Why is it when sometimes I e-mail someone, I receive a memo saying my message can't be delivered with my current server? For the most part my messages always go through, but I'm having difficulty sending a message to a particular supplier that requires additional information.

What does this mean exactly?

Thanks

I don't know exactly what, "message can't be delivered with my current server" means. I think you would have to provide the exact syntax of the error in order to get an answer to your question. There are quite a few mail router errors that sound similar.

However, these errors in their most basic state may mean one of the following:

1. Your mail service provider is marking your outgoing message as spam and will not allow it to be sent.

2. The mail server cannot delivery the message because the server caps the size of outgoing messages and you're message exceed that size.

Again, those are both general guesses. You'd need to provide more info for a more accurate answer.

Hope this helps.

It's just some written text in regards to company requests for additional information.

Ok, thanks!

That makes sense. I'll change a few things and see if that helps.

Are you sending the e-mail using the correct outbound domain? If you have say a @comcast.net as your internet provider and are using a @teranfon.net, they'll think it's spam.

Is this "additional information" in the form of an attachment or multiple attachments?

If so, what you are trying to send them may be too large.

Thanks for input everyone.

Nope, nothing works. It's just a simple e-mail with some specifications for some processing equipment. No more than a few sentences.

Dammit, I hate these things. I'll just fax in instead.

^ It may be nothing you can control and may not be "your" problem. It's possible they're having issues on their end.
