Comcast & scrambled channels question..
So I had an old TV set in my bedroom and decided to upgrade to a LG LCD 1080 TV. The old TV needed a conversion box to get all the channels I get off the main box in the living room. So when I got the LCD for my bedroom, I thought I would no longer need the conversion box. But dang if I do not get some of the upper channels that I love watching. Any ideas? Calling Comcast is a pain due to being on hold, so I thought I would throw it out here first.

Comcast over the last two years has taken many channels off of their analog service and put them to digital (and higher tier), meaning you need their box to unscramble the channel.

I let my TV unscramble channels too, they wont all go away but you will slowly lose more and more as the TV sees a "weak signal".
Just for the hell of it I had a friend who was a comcast tech check my signal, put in a booster, and a new coax with no improvement.
It doesn't bother me much as I don't watch a lot of TV, but if you really want the channels get the box.

Does your new TV have a cablecard slot? If so you can request a cablecard from Comcast for a small monthly fee. The cablecard will be able to descramble the channels you are entitled too and you won't need a box. If your TV doesn't take a cablecard then you will need a box.
