Well, I've successfully flashed my friend's V3, but I still can't unlock it. Can anybody help me out? I don't want to have to pay $45 to get this done......

There's no cheap/free way to do it yourself right now.

Was the phone originally bought from a carrier (Cingular, T-Mobile)? If so, and you've been with them long enough, T-Mobile is pretty good about giving you the subsidy unlock code when you tell them that you are going to another country and want to use your phone with a prepaid SIM over there.

I wouldn't go around posting your IMEI #, anyone could easily clone it and start using your minutes

 

lol imei's arent clonable. imei's only work with simcards. and the simcard is what makes the phone work, so if you clone the sim card you are in business.

esn's on the other hand are defiantely more easily clonable.


if anyone could do anything with that IMEI is register it on their own account and possibly, maybe, could do insurance fraud on the acct.

 

Mail it to me and I will do it for $25 Paypal'ed and return it to you, thats the best option

 

I thought flashing it unlocked it...interesting..
