cell phone keeps dying

Arrrgg...

My cell phone keeps dying and I've missed several calls lately because of this.. I think I'm going to need a new phone, but I'm stuck with Sprint until this september.

WTF do I do? I don't want to stay with Sprint after the contract expires and I don't want to buy a new phone if I'm only going to use it for another 6 months..

I think there's about $100 early termination fee..

Could be a bad battery. Have you tried replacing it?

I was thinking this, too...
It just turns off by itself and if I turn in back on, it's got full battery power.

Do batteries cost a lot? I don't want to buy it before knowing it IS the battery problem..

Take it to a Sprint store and have them look into it.

post a thread in the phone forum asking for someones old sprint phone. Im sure someone has something laying around that will tie you over until your contract is up.

all you have to do is take it to the store and they'll look it over for you and if they cant fix it they'll give you a one.

No, it's definitely not the liquid.. It happened to me once before with my other phone, so I've been pretty careful with this one.

It's a samsung one with flip cover.. I noticed when I close it, it dies.

i had verizion first, and they checked it out for free and gave me a loaner phone meanwhile they checked it. They said i had to buy a new phone....

Nextel is the same exact way.

Free loaner phones all around! i dunno how much i trust the people that check the phones. Based on lack of knowledge, and that they want my money.

I'd get it checked out. or put insurance on it, and then have it replaced once the insurance goes on.

actually there is a cell phone virus going around right now. the thing infects the phone as a message. you open it and it them reproduces and sends to your whole contact list. it travels even faster via bluetooth

MAIN THING IT DOES: DRAIN BATTERIES.

the new age of hacking has arrived.

Could it possibly be the connection between the phone and the charger? I know on my bf's old phone had that problem. He would plug it in to charge for hours and hardly any charge was added to it. Eventually he got a new charger and it was alright.

The explanation is that gnomes are living in your phone and conspiring.

I had a similar problem with my Motorola. I changed the charge time to normal from 'quick' and it stopped the problem.

This is old news, I already knew about something like this (one alledged case does not mean epidemic spreading), Dave you and I even talked about this. There are less than 1% symbian phones in the US, and the virus CANNOT affect any of our other phones. I never said there was no such thing as a virus, it is false to say there is a cellphone virus spreading across America because cellphones cannot have viruses, only the operating systems that are capable like Windows Mobile and Symbian; none of the regular Motorola, Sanyo, Samsung, LG phones....

Bottom line is 99% of cellphone users (even those with Bluetooth) have absolutely nothing to worry about. I really shouldn't be commenting on this so consider if off the record.

the new age of hacking is NOT here yet, it's not even close. Your "regular" cellphone is immune, continue to talk as usual, you're not going to get a text message or email that going to infect your phone lol.

Sanyo 5600.

Here's another, Gladiator. It's a sample of the entire 2.5 hours of the movie in the phone, it looks very very good (much better than my poor vidcam is showing), it ffw quickly, it's not choppy, and the audio is loud. Very useable.
