Ever heard of snake-oil Mikey...?

Cell phone radiation is like a microwave...it fries your brain...just a tiny little itty bitty bit at a time.

De-bunked with large populations studies several years ago.

Electric shavers are OK too!

I think the whole issue is on the fence...

Until they can prove that cells uniquivically cause cancer, they won't be able to prove those little pads due squat. I'd rather just wrap my head in Reynolds wrap foil...

Seriously, I can see how heavy cell usage could cause cancer...it doesn't take much irradiating to form a cancer cell. Let's strap some cell phones to some rats & do our own research.

Well, from what I remember...cell phones are tested to make sure the amount of radiation is minimal (there is some sort of government protocol as to what "minimal" is). The problem is that manufacturers do the testing themselves and test the phones in only one position, but we all know that phones are not used in only one position when we talk to ppl...we're moving around and what not....anywho.... "normal" positioning of a phone emmits an amount of radiation that is apparently too much. The only phones that were deemed "safe" were the old motorola startecs (when this study came out).

common sense would know that only lead a couple inches thick could stop radiation.

what is it suppose to neutralize it?!

Actually, certain types of ionizing radiation particles (alpha & beta) can be stopped with a air, a piece of paper or thin sheets of plastic. Only gamma irradiation requires metal/lead shielding. The thickness may only be a millimeter or several inches, depending on the energy to be blocked.

Folks are spouting misinformation on mobile cell phones and ionizing radiation. Modern mobiles put out minimal measurable microwave and other EM irradiation. Experiments have been done in the laboratory (yes, they did strap a phone to a rat, well sort of) and have yet to show a significant increase in relative risk in developing a solid or humoral tumor. Population based studies both here and Europe have failed to show increased relative risk of tumor development in those that use mobile phones.

At best, some studies have shown equivocal effects of mobile phone irradiation; other studies have totally disproved any relationship to these products and tumor development.

Bottom line, there are more important life risks to be concerned about then mobile phone risk. Crossing the street carries exponentially more risk to your health then talking on the phone.

Could the sticky pad that Mikey sells actually block something? Maybe. But honestly, it's really a product designed to profit on someone's unwarranted fear.

All I can add is that the panasonics currently put out the most radiation of any other phone manufacturer.

There is not enough information yet. We will need to wait another 10 to 20 years and see if there are any effects.
