Can I put Windows Media Center on my desktop PC?

Will this work? Are there any hardware or other requirements for Media Center that I don't have on my pc running XP pro? I have a Dell Dimension 4600, tv tuner, decent graphics card, 712 mb ram.

no, WMC has been out before PCI express has been. I also don't think any PCI express capture cards are even on the market yet. Thats not to say WMC won't run on a PCI express system however.

it will work, i put media center edition on a pc i built with spare parts, including an old video card ( AIW so it DID have vid capture ). it will just give you a little warning that your video drivers are not fully compatible with the media center app, which will work regardless, unless of course your vid card is supported, in which case, no problem

Awesome. I guess I'll give it a shot. No reason not to, I can always go back to Pro if it doesn't work out.
