I'm trying to do a bluetooth hotsync with my treo 650. Every time I do it, it says 'this can not be completed, selected port is in use'.

I made 5 bluetooth ports on my pc, and I have tried setting hotsync to use all of them. Never works. What the hell am I supposed to do? It worked on com1 the day I set this up, but now it just stopped working. When hotsync manager starts, it says 'com1 is not available because it is in use by another application'.

How do I find out what other application this is? How do I turn it off? This is driving me insane. I've googled it and got about 10,000 hits of other people having this problem, and every person has their own way of getting around it (half go back to using the usb cable, seems like).

 

None of the first 4 or so COM ports will work with Bluetooth since they are system ports. I use COM7 on mine, forgot exactly how I set it up since it was a while ago, but try that out.

 

Check your Bios Settings, Your Com Settings should all be in there

 

Some other app is conflicting, have you recently intalled something new? Perhaps you can uninstall and reinstall the whole thing....
