Bluetooth Verizon phone...

Hi all,
I read in another forum that instead of waiting for Verizon to make available a bluetooth phone, you could just buy ANY phone (as long as it is in the same network-type... i.e. CDMA) and just change/swap the ESN. Has anyone done this, or can verify if this is true?

Cool

Here is a thread that might answer some questions.

Also, I see that you're in San Jose...Cingular would be a very excellent choice for switching to a bluetooth enabled phone. With Verizon, the Motorola V710 was slated to come out at the end of last month but hasn't made it just yet. Check out this thread for a bluetooth discussion. Best of luck.

This may be somewhat of a repost, but don't sweat it. We all have to start somewhere and for people looking for information, we can link them in the right direction.

Here is what i got from Verizon on 6-4-04 in a response to my question as to weather or not they were going to have a bluetooth phone....
We appreciate your interest in the incorporation of Bluetooth
Technology with Verizon Wireless services. At this time we do not offer
products to support this technology. However, our Research and Development
Team has been studying the ability to incorporate Bluetooth technology
with our products and services.

Take it for what it's worth

Went by one of the verizon wireless kiosks at the mall today, and asked abt this.

ME: When is verizon coming out with a bluetooth phone?
THEM: Um... what kind of phone?

ME: hmmm... Nevermind.
THEM: is that one of those phones that can record video?

ME: hahaha... No. Nevermind.
THEM: well, we are getting those phones in a month!

ME: Thanks!
THEM: Your Welcome! Glad I could help!

I thought it was funny. Thought I'd share.

That reminds me, I went into a T-Mobile store one time.

ME: When are you guys getting more bluetooth phones?
THEM: What is bluetooth?

ME: The Sony Ericsson T68i has bluetooth that you guys carry.
THEM: Oh, I don't know if it does or not, it has color though.

ME: Umm thanks. (in the back of my mind I was thinking dumbass)
THEM: Sure no prob, Hey, if you have friends who want a phone, tell them to come see me.

I think it was trying to redeem himself in a lower manner. lol.

I have a ton of similar stories. My girlfriend and I leave wondering every time how these people get/keep a job. I suppose for some people (young men) a 19 y/o with big t!ts, bright smile, and a short skirt are enough to agree to a two year contract?

I'd say less than 10% of mobile provider employees actually care about knowing their phones and technology. Some of the guys at the T-Mobile store are pretty sharp. Cingular stores, they just toss BS at you and expect you or someone to believe it. AT&T, I pitty them, they are so clueless.
