Post Apple: iPod News and Discussion Thread

Will they have something as awesome as this date that only comes once every hundred years? Steve Jobs appearance? The Beatles on iTunes? Apple "iPad" Tablet? iPods with cameras and voice control? 64gb iTouch? OLED? Tegra? Tune your internet browser here and find out!

for an iPod tablet.

Sooner or later, they are going to have to give their mobile OS a name. Their mobile OS platform will fit nicer into a tablet form even though it's already running on the touch and iphone. Errrr, this would be the obvious thing to do which means they won't do it.

I'm looking at buying the kindle, but if I can buy books for my wife on an iPod tablet, and she can buy games on it, it's a win-win. As it is she's always stealing my iPhone to play games anyway.

I'm expecting to be bored. It sounds like there will definitely be new ipod touches and ipod nanos....probably with cameras.

i've also heard of something cooking with the record labels. but at the same time, if the record labels are involved, the end result will be blah.

No Beatles on iTunes....not going to happen...at least this time around.

No tablet.

iPods w/ cameras and touch w/ 3g.
If we are lucky 720p on touch and iPhone 3GS w/ OS update.

Isn't a Touch with 3G just... an Iphone? (without voice of course)

Not sure they would do that. It would kill iPhone sales big time.

I'm confused. If you're using 3G don't you have to pay a monthly fee for the connection? Isn't 3G different than wifi?

Yes, but I would do it if the plan was under $30 a month. Add tethering and sold...

Home Sharing? :ghey:

How about a way to make it easier for multiple computers to simply link to a single library and AUTOSYNC upon startup. This way your whole family can buy music whenever they want, but when you log into your account on your computer the new music is added to your library as well.

and why did they get rid of the classic? They should make a massive one, because 120 probably isn't even enough storage for some people.

You can now use itunes 9 to organize the layout of your apps on your iTouch and iPhone. This should be much easier than the horrible implementation of moving apps on the device itself.

Because not every has the proper hard drive to accomodate such a function.

Not to mention I dont want all my wifes spanish pop and travis records on my itunes.

home sharing on the hand is great.

Its kinda true though.

My mom has had every gameboy since the original, and has a PSP.

She says she barely touches them since getting a iphone. She likes the games on it just as much or more.

Home sharing enables file transfers between up to five local computers of songs, videos and even apps.......so you can buy one app and use it on more than one iPhone?!?!?

I'm curious about "It's great for discovering new music, like this new Green Day album"

From the looks of it, a genius playlist will also show you suggestions of songs you don't already have? I assume you get to hear a preview and can buy right there? I think Zune has better discovery tools, as long as you have the Zune Pass.

I don't want to be fanboyish. If Apple had "The Social" and could have their massive breadth of users sharing their current plays and favorites, it would be incredible.
